Why should I learn Primitive Movement?

The vast majority of habitual problems related to posture and movement are caused by our lack of awareness of our head position in everyday life and of its quality of balance on top of the spine. The average adult human head weighs 10 pounds, but that load bearing down on the body quickly doubles and even triples as our heads move out of their proper and natural alignment.

The reason for this is simpler than you think! In our modern society we tend to live in our heads, the center of all our thoughts, feelings, daily worries and anxieties, and forget about our bodies that are given the simple task of supporting our heads in everything we do.

Primitive Movement exercises are not new, and they are certainly not original, but what makes this approach unique is the performance of the exercises being centered around the goal of consciously reconnecting with the body through the lens of its relation to the head, just as we learned to do reflexively as infants. In other words, by reconnecting with our bodies, we can find our heads!
